following excerpt from the Code of Hammurabi, make a guess as to the intent of
the law and its subsequent punishment, written in one paragraph. In another
paragraph, discuss what this law might have to say about Babylonian

female tavern-keeper does not accept corn according to gross weight in payment
of a drink, but takes money, and the price of the drink is less than that of
